Starboard Hotels invited us to assist with the redevelopment of the previous Park Royal bar to provide a 162-bedroom Hampton by Hilton hotel. The original building, lying vacant and in a state of disrepair, has a listed Art Deco façade, which has been retained and refurbished to its former glory, with the new hotel being built in behind and wrapped over with new, substantially glazed floors.
With our extensive hotel brand experience, we were invited to review the generic planning consent with the purpose of testing various brands while, simultaneously, increasing the bedroom count. This was achieved through the Hampton by Hilton brand, delivering an additional 13 bedrooms within the previous consented building massing through detailed dialogue with Hilton. The hotel will include the new bedroom branding which we tested hand-in-hand with Hilton to secure viability with the Park Royal development, resulting in a hotel that combines the new Hampton branding with the art-deco qualities of the original building.
